anything but a sweet taste in their mouths.

One of the band members was a victim of two break-ins during the group's brief stay on the Island.

And concert promoter Mr. David Frost, of Treble Clef Productions, told The Royal Gazette given what the group went through, he was amazed by their performance at Somerset Cricket Club on Saturday night and their desire to return.

Hours after the group's arrival in Bermuda last Friday, band member Mr. Pedro Hunte found that his room at a North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish guest house had been broken into.

His wallet, containing $300, and a case of 12 compact discs valued at $260 was missing.

The CDs were later found on the guest house property. But the money, with which Mr. Hunte planned to buy a gift for his baby, was not recovered.

The matter is under Police investigation.

If that was not enough, Mr. Frost said, Mr. Hunte returned to his room before Saturday night's concert to find that his belongings had been "tampered with''.

"They were understandably upset,'' said Mr. Frost, explaining that the group arrived at the concert an hour later than the 10 p.m. scheduled time as a result of the mishap.

And, he added, despite being greeted by a somewhat hostile crowd, the group performed for close to two hours without taking a break.

Because of the number of visitors in the audience, Mr. Frost said promoters did not want to announce that the delay was due to a band member becoming a victim of a break-in and theft.

"But,'' he said, "we feel we need to explain to our patrons that we were not trying to rip them off.''
