The first two -- a 57-year-old Hamilton Parish man and a 34-year-old Southampton man -- were arrested at around 9.30 a.m. Sunday in the area of St.

Monica's Mission, Pembroke, reported Police spokesman Evelyn James Barnett.

Police officers watched the two men conduct a transaction in a private car and moved in.

They discovered a quantity of pay-type envelopes in the car containing what is believed to be plant material, said Ms James Barnett.

In a separate incident, Police officers arrested a 32-year-old Warwick man early yesterday morning.

The officers were travelling east along Ord Road in Warwick shortly after midnight when they saw two men at the side of the road. The man placed an object on the road beside him which the officers examined.

It was found to be a homemade pipe and the man was arrested. His companion was arrested on another matter.

Policed investigations are continuing into both matters, said Ms James Barnett.

In other Police news, a 78-year-old Elizabeth Hills, Pembroke woman called Police at 11 p.m. on Sunday to report that she heard noises at the front of her residence.

She told officers that someone knocked on her front door and when she did not answer the person or persons went around to the rear of her residence.

Officers searched the area but failed to find anyone. Heightened vigilance will be maintained by Police patrols as the area houses many senior citizens, said Ms James Barnett.
