A 14-year-old boy from St. George's was stopped by staff at the Phoenix Store in Hamilton's Reid Street on Friday afternoon after he allegedly put a book and a magazine in his bag and left the store.

Shortly afterwards, two 13-year-old girls were detained when they attempted to leave without paying for a pair of earrings.

All the alleged offenders were handed over to Police. A spokesman said inquiries into both incidents are continuing.
