Jack Harris -- is attending the International Caucus Meeting in Barbados. He will oversee training seminars involving groups from the Bahamas, Barbados, Haiti, Grenada, St. Vincent, Canada and the US. Mr. Harris intends to encourage prison ministry leaders to adopt Bermuda's Prison Fellowship Slimathon fundraising programme.
He will also encourage churches and Christian groups throughout the Caribbean to follow Bermuda's Adopt-an-Inmate project.
Before leaving, he sent out a media press release stating he was waiting for final approval -- and funds -- to host an International Caucus Meeting on the Island in October.
With the themes, "Incarceration and it's Effects on Crime'', "The Transformation of Inmates Whilst Incarcerated'' and "Alternative Sentencing'', the Bermuda convention is expected to attract representatives from eight countries, including Canada and the US.
