"provoked'' was yesterday fined $75 in Magistrates' Court.

Vernelle A. Symonds, of Cedar Lane, pleaded guilty to the offence.

Prosecuting, Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that on September 11 Symonds visited the complainant's home after they had argued on the telephone.

"Symonds confronted her and slapped her across the face,'' said Insp. Duffy.

Asked by senior magistrate the Wor. Will Francis if she had anything to say, Symonds replied: "I was provoked, we have a domestic problem.''
