Smith fires Islanders to tour victory

in the Millennium Tournament in Durham, England on Sunday, beating Sinsen Club of Norway by 93 runs.

Smith hit 117 not out in the St. David's total of 311-6. Sinsen replied with 218-8 in their allotted overs.

Also getting among the runs for St. David's were Lionel Cann (47), Allen Richardson (43) and George O'Brien (34). Opener Chris Foggo was dismissed for a duck while Sammy Robinson was run out for two.

Del Hollis claimed five for 35 for St. David's while O'Brien had two for 26 and Robinson and Dale Fox both one for 23.

Twelve club teams are competing in the tournament, three from the United Kingdom, two from the United States as well as one each from Switzerland, Luxembourg, Barbados, Norway, Spain and Denmark. The teams are split into two groups of six, each playing five matches, before the two group winners advance to the final on Saturday.
