Bermuda's Princess hotels have made Conde Nast Traveler Magazine's list of the world's top 50 tropical resorts.

The prestigious magazine ranked the Southampton Princess Hotel number 20 among the top finishers. It marked the third straight year the 600-room hotel has finished near the top of the list.

This year, the magazine placed its sister property, The Princess Hotel in Hamilton, among the top 50. It finished in the number 35 spot.

They were Bermuda's only two resorts to finish in the top 50.

Mr. Stephen Barker, Princess Hotels regional vice-president, said it was an honour for the hotels to be praised by readers as discerning as the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

Two other Princess properties were included in the list. Only two other hotel chains, the Ritz-Carlton and the Four Seasons, have as many hotels on the list.

The survey results were drawn from the first 30,000 of 38,000 returned questionaires distributed to a randomly selected sample of the magazine's subscribers.

Resorts were judged on service, rooms, restaurants and other facilities, and location/atmosphere.
