P.A.L.S. recognises that the focus of care must be on the whole person as well as his/her family.

P.A.L.S. has a 24 hour on-call system for emergencies. Each nurse is on call for one week at a time in rotation.

P.A.L.S. does not care for the terminally ill only, as is commonly believed.

131 new cancer patients were referred to P.A.L.S. during 1997.

Once a patient has been diagnosed, P.A.L.S. emphasises "Living With Cancer'' so each patient may lead as normal a life as possible with the highest quality of life possible.

The nurses make in excess of 6,000 visits to cancer patients in their homes annually.

P.A.L.S. wishes to remove from our language the well-worn phrase "nothing more can be done''.
