Police were called to a domestic dispute at a house on Victoria Terrace on October 5.

Isford Irving had apparently been arguing with his wife over a woman Irving was said to be friendly with, said Prosecutor Sgt. Earl Kirby. Irving was sitting on a bike outside the house, and when his wife slapped him, he hit her back, knocking off her earring.

Irving prevented his wife from calling the Police from their house, said Sgt.

Kirby, but Stacey Irving eventually managed to make the call from a neighbour's house.

Sgt. Kirby reported that the couple were still living together in the same house.

"She hit me, I hit her back,'' Irving explained.

"She was pregnant at the time and you hit her,'' said Magistrate the Wor.

Charles-Etta Simmons. "That's how you solve an argument?'' "Yeah,'' Irving replied.

Ms Simmons bound him over to keep the peace for six months, with a fine of $500 if he appears in court again before that time.
