US Navy frigate and missile cruiser add to usual ship traffic
Two USS warships will provide an unusual sideshow amongst the cruise ship movements this week.
Tomorrow the USS Vella Gulf and USS Hely Burton will be arriving at Dockyard.
The missile cruiser and frigate are scheduled to leave the same day after refuelling.
Salemm Talbot, of John S. Darrell, also reported the arrival of the Song of America at St. George's on Tuesday, before moving on to Hamilton yesterday.
With 1,452 passengers on-board, it is expected to leave for New York tomorrow.
Earlier this week, the Royal Viking Sun sailed into Hamilton from Miami with 587 passengers aboard. It left the same day for Madeira, he said.
The Cable and Wireless cable repair vessel Sir Eric Sharp left Dockyard on Monday, after an extended stay at the Island. It sailed for Dominican Republic for cable repair work, said Steven Paynter at Meyer Agencies.
The Zenith arrived from New York with 1,357 passengers at Hamilton on Tuesday before sailing to St. George's yesterday. It is expected to leave the Island today.
The Norwegian Crown sailed in on Monday from New York with 1,029 people, and after calling at Hamilton on Tuesday, it is scheduled for departure this afternoon.
On Monday the Norwegian Majesty sailed in to St. George's from Boston with 1,103 passengers aboard. It will leave Bermuda tomorrow.
On the freight side, Steven Paynter said the Somers Isles sailed in from Florida with 103 containers on Sunday, before departing on Monday morning.
And the Bermuda Islander arrived on Monday with a total of 120 containers, before leaving again on Tuesday.
The Oleander also made its weekly visit, arriving in Hamilton on Tuesday with 190 containers of mixed cargo. It sailed the same day for New. Jersey.
