Mr. Frank Mutch, Mr. James Pearman and Mr. Cummings Zuill are being sued by the US-based liquidator of three Bermuda-registered commodity sulphur trading companies.

It is believed the three Bermudians were nominal directors of Deltrade International Ltd., Nitrosul Ltd., and Nitrophos Ltd.

The companies were controlled by common interests in the United States, including US citizens Mr. Antonino Castellett and Ms Stephanie Shea.

In addition to the amounts being sought against the Bermudians, Mr. Castellett and Ms Shea are also being sued for several million dollars.

Mr. Pearman and Mr. Mutch, who are partners in Conyers, Dill and Pearman, and Mr. Zuill, general manager of the Bank of Bermuda, have yet to be served with summonses.

Mr. Pearman said yesterday: "I may have been secretary of the three companies. I cannot really remember much about them.

"Since we have not been served with any court documents, it's difficult to comment.'' Mr. Mutch is on vacation and could not be reached for comment and Mr. Zuill did not want to say anything.

New York-based Mr. Edward G. Moran, who is liquidating the companies, said the three firms stopped doing business in mid-1989.

He said they were registered and were run by a management company in Bermuda, although he would not reveal its name.

"I am limited in what I can say at the moment,'' said Mr. Moran. "I have been told that further documents will be filed in several weeks. They will be in the form of a formal complaint.'' Mr. Frank Mutch Mr. Cummings Zuill.
