Dr. Gibbons, whose utilisation committee will work with planners EDAW of London and Barker & Linberg of Bermuda, said there will be chances for public input before decisions are made on how the US Naval Air Station, the Annex, Tudor Hill, and the Canadian Forces Station at Daniel's Head are used.

How public views will be sought has yet to be determined, but "one of the ideas suggested is a series of public forums, which may start in Somerset and end up in St. George's or St. David's,'' he said.

Some of the ideas proposed for the Base lands could be discussed at the meetings to test public reaction.

The committee will also be seeking input from various organisations and groups, Dr. Gibbons said.
