But Premier David Saul -- who was on hand with Environment Minister Pamela Gordon and Health Minister Harry Soares -- said having a few people present was better as it gave them a chance to share ideas easier.

The main topics of concern were the Island's prisons and crime.

One audience member asked when Government was going to make prisoners pay their own way instead of being a burden to taxpayers.

Too many criminals came out of prison -- "a holiday camp'' -- looking better than when they went in and then committed crimes straight away.

"Why not put them on the roads in bright pink jumpsuits and ankle chains and get them working,'' suggested the man.

He added: "I bet everyone in this room would be willing to purchase the ankle chains to see it get done.'' Turning to crime, another man said: "The Bermudian people are fed up with the lack of punishment against these people.'' This issue needed to be addressed because it was becoming so bad that some people could not sleep at night.

"I can't guarantee that while I'm here my home won't be broken into,'' said the man.

Dr. Saul said crime in Bermuda had started to go down and this had to be kept in mind.
