Winchester surge into golf lead

Yesterday saw the second round being played at Castle Harbour and despite bright blue skies, the gentle breezes made encountering the Tucker's Town course an extremely tricky affair.
Winchester Country Club I surged into the leadership in the net division with an impressive 19-under-par round of 123 using the four-ball, two-ball, better-ball format, giving them an overall total of 175.
Sharing second place are first round leaders Hyannis Golf Club and Team Stogie, both on 182 after rounds of 132 and 129 respectively.
In the gross division defending champions Baltusrol Golf Club rallied to post a creditable two-over-par 144 to capture daily honours, as well as take over the top spot heading into tomorrow's final round at St. George's, standing at 206 overall.
Baltusrol overtook first round leaders Chevy Chase Country Club, which could only manage a 151 at Castle for a 210 total. Third are Cedarbrook Country Club at 218 after a 155 second round effort.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the day occurred when Winnie Jahn, representing Woodmore Country Club recorded the tournament's second hole-in-one at the third hole.
