Twenty officers from the Task Force unit divided into two teams and co-ordinated swoops around Bermuda between mid-day and 10 p.m.

Suspects were arrested by Police armed with Summary Jurisdiction Apprehension Warrants.

Police chiefs said none of the arrests were made in private homes.

A spokesman said: "The arrests were made in public all over Bermuda.

"The operation by the Task Force team was designed to target warrant offenders and ten men have now been brought in for questioning.'' THREE CANADIAN VIE FOR POST GVT Three Canadians vie for post The post of telecommunications consultant is set to be filled by March.

Applicants for the $94,000 Government job have been short listed to three Canadians, Telecommunications Minister E.T. (Bob) Richards confirmed yesterday.

He said he expected to be speaking to the applicants soon and hoped to have the position filled by March.

The post was advertised late last year, first in the daily Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail, and then locally. Sen. Richards said he did not know if any locals had applied for the position.

Former Telecommunications Minister John Barritt told The Royal Gazette in September that the advertisement's early appearance in Canada was due to that paper running a special supplement on telecommunications at the time.

REPAIRS COMPLETED AT DELLWOOD ED Repairs completed at Dellwood Students at Dellwood Middle School have resumed classes in the old main building.

Last month staff at the school, on Angle Street in Pembroke, had to send some 200 students home early after a leaking roof caused flooding in the building.

Students returned to school the next day, but were relocated to other areas of the school.

Yesterday, principal Carol Bassett said repairs had been made to the main building and students were able to attend classes there.

POLICE ARREST PEMBROKE MAN CRM Police arrest Pembroke man Police arrested a 43-year-old Pembroke man early yesterday morning on suspicion of possesion of drugs.

He was searched on Union Street and a rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine was found, a spokesperson said.

The substance will be analysed, and if found to be narcotics, he will appear in court in due course.
