KIWI Airlines starting frequent flyer scheme
programme.
The programme, which will begin on Monday, is called the KIWI KLUB, an acronym for KIWI Loyal Users Programme.
Before each flight, frequent flyer members will have their KLUB card stamped.
They will receive a free round-trip ticket to any KIWI destination after they have flown 18 one-way segments.
To inaugurate the KLUB, KIWI said it will give two free bonus stamps.
"We're proud to announce the KIWI KLUB programme because it will provide a great benefit to our loyal business passengers and Florida commuters,'' the airline's president and CEO Jerry Murphy said.
"KIWI has needed a programme like this for some time because it will build on the loyalty we already enjoy. We believe that business people, corporate travel planners and travel agents will give us additional business because it rewards free travel twice as fast as other programmes.'' Mr. Murphy noted that with KIWI's average flight length of 725 miles, it would take more than 34 flights to achieve one free ticket under most other carriers' frequent flyer programmes.
But he said with the KLUB's 18 flight requirement, plus two bonus flights, free travel will be awarded twice as fast as other programmes.
Passengers travelling with KIWI commuter books -- prepaid and transferable booklets of ten tickets for the price of nine -- will also be eligible for KLUB rewards.
In addition to the frequent flyer programme, KIWI also announced several promotions to mark its fourth anniversary.
From September 15 through 30, passengers will receive a "Fly Free in '97'' certificate. The certificates must be redeemed by October 15 and travel must take place in 1997.
Also all passengers who are members of the KIWI KLUB and travel on KIWI's anniversary day of September 21 will receive an additional four bonus flight credits.
