Police discovered 35-year-old Peniston asleep after hearing his snoring close to the public mailboxes.

Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy said that officers had seen the defendant wandering around Hamilton.

He had previously been charged with wandering abroad, without fit and proper lodgings, in June last year.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis asked Peniston: "I give you a conditional discharge do you think you can live up to it? You were given one last year and you kept to it for almost a year.

"The Post Office is not the place to go if you have nowhere to sleep.'' Peniston said he would stay at his mother's house. He was conditionally discharged for six months.
