championships was brought to an end late on Thursday night.

It was 8.30 p.m at the Woodbine Golf Club near Toronto, when the 15-year-old finally succumbed on the 16th hole to Canada's Don Bryson three and two.

Bryson, conqueror of fellow Bermudian Jared Dillas in the last eight, went on to win the tournament.

It was a long day for Hunt, who in the morning had beaten Ryan Vassell, also three and two, to secure his semi-final place.

Eric Robinson, who accompanied the team, said: "Fraser played some steady, good golf but got a couple of bad breaks. He and Bryson were quite evenly matched.

"But it was tough on him, it was a long day and pretty gruelling.'' Two other members of the team, Laura Robinson and Chris Smith, now travel further north of Toronto to compete in the 54-hole Osprey Valley tournament beginning on Monday.
