Police would not identify the firm or the nature of the investigation.

"We are not prepared to disclose those details at this time,'' Sgt. Roseanda Jones said. "Police conducted a search warrant at a law office on Front Street. The investigation is ongoing.'' It is understood the firm was Hall & Associates located in the Emporium Building on Front Street. Lawyers at the firm are former MP Mr. Julain Hall, Mr. Michael Scott and Mr. Robin McMillan.

It is also understood Police spoke with Mr. Hall earlier and papers were seized.

When contacted, Mr. Hall refused to confirm or deny that Police searched his offices.

He said: "I have not been in my office all day. I've had meetings outside the office.''
