Island's diabetics, according to the Bermuda Diabetes Association.
The $25,000 raised for the association, one of three chosen charities, went to work towards the prevention of Type II Diabetes which is prevalent in Bermuda.
The work encouraged everyone to strive for healthier lifestyles by getting more exercise and improving eating habits.
A spokesperson said: "We completed the last of the three projects in February, and we consider that our efforts have been successful, judging by the increased number of people one sees out walking regularly, the number of school children who now have better filled lunch boxes and who are rope skipping for fun and fitness.'' The three projects were Bermuda's first ever fitness day, helping with the Youth to Youth Conference and the rope skipping project.
Concerning the rope project, the spokesperson said: "The visiting team of 13 students, the 1993 US National Champions, delighted all of Bermuda's primary school children with their 40-minute performances.
"We donated 2,300 skipping rope to the primary schools following the demonstrations to be used during PE lessons and during recess and lunchtime to encourage the children to become more fit -- along with their teachers hopefully.
"Many of the children have been sending in subsequent orders for their own personal ropes to use at home.''
