Using their astute knowledge of local conditions the combination of local Jean Mylrea and former resident Ginette Spinucci proved a winning one as they made a clean sweep at the Mid Ocean Club Ladies Invitation.

Mylrea and Spinucci overcame the wet conditions to top both the net and gross divisions, registering totals of 201 and 227 respectively.

In the net division they defeated the all-American team of Zita Legere and Jane Welch (204) by three strokes, with Suzanne Pearman and Mary Huggett (207) a further three shots adrift.

Meanwhile, on the gross side the Mylrea/Spinucci tandem were winners by a whopping six strokes over Madeline Joell and Janina Jacobs (233), with Judy Kitson and Maisie Barlow trailing third at 240.
