Janine Bentley of AS&K Incorporators played superbly in a close encounter with Nickers' number one player Tony Prentice and it was only after a gruelling 40 minute session that she succumbed, as did the Incorporators by a 2-1 margin.

The `battle of the titans' was waged between TTMC's Julian Rose and David Hyland of Bank of Bermuda `H's, and proved to be the day's best match.

Hyland won the encounter 2-1 but his team lost out on a chance to reach the quarter-finals as a 3-0 win was needed.
