Forties complete double

beat St. David's by five runs in a thrilling finish to a high-scoring 40 overs-a-side knockout final at Lord's yesterday.

Opener Harold Minors hammered six fours and four sixes in his 65 from 66 balls as Forties reached 100 for three from 20 overs after a shaky start before skipper Gordon Campbell (53 not out) and Oscar Andrade (30 not out) smashed 85 runs in an unbroken eighth-wicket stand in the final eight overs.

Opener George Cannonier led the St. David's chase with eight fours and three sixes in 70.
