Fathers to come under focus at three-day retreat
Later this month The Fathers' Resource Centre will hold its second annual Fathers Retreat at Ports Island.
And while the focus of the three-day retreat -- from May 22 to May 25 -- will be on fathers and fathering, spokesman Roger Scotton said men are encouraged to bring their children and wives along.
"We want to attract a broad range of people,'' Mr. Scotton said, adding that the theme of the weekend was "supporting fathers, supporting children''.
"We hope to draw families closer together, so we encourage fathers to bring their children with them as well as their wives.'' In addition to parenting workshops, there will be a competition for the "most interestingly dressed father'', and fun activities for children.
Estimating that the camp could comfortably accommodate some 50 people, Mr.
Scotton urged fathers to obtain retreat tickets -- which are $30 per person -- as soon as possible.
