early yesterday morning can't quite understand what all the fuss is about.

"It wasn't any big deal,'' security guard Mr. Stephen Clarke told The Royal Gazette . "I'm glad he got caught, but I think it was something anyone would have done.'' Mr. Clarke, who works for Island Wide Security, said he had just finished his usual rounds of the Telephone Company building at 4.45 a.m. and was heading back to the security booth when he heard "a loud bang'' and falling glass.

Looking out, he saw someone crawl into the Washington Street depot's ticket booth. Mr. Clarke immediately called Police, and two plain-clothed officers arrived just in time to tackle the cuprit as he tried to leave.

A squad car arrived soon after, and a 41-year-old Pembroke man was taken to the Hamilton station and detained.

"It didn't seem like he wanted to be sneaky about it -- he was loud enough,'' said Mr. Clarke."I guess he thought it was too early in the morning.''
