Rum and cokes put man off road
Devonshire man $400 and a year off the road.
Albert Victor Soares Jr., of Kent Avenue, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired on September 27.
Shortly before 1.30 a.m., Police on duty near Warwick Academy saw a motorcycle traveling in a dangerous manner on Middle Road, Warwick, prosecuting Insp.
Peter Duffy said.
Soares, who was riding the cycle, caused vehicles traveling in the opposite direction to take evasive action, he said.
Police stopped Soares as he turned left onto Manse Road.
Insp. Duffy said they noticed that Soares' breath smelled of alcohol and he told them he had consumed two or three drinks.
The lowest reading in an alcoanalyser test showed Soares had 141 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 100 milligrams of alcohol.
Soares had no recognables.
