was fined $1,000 and taken off the road until the year 2006 when he appeared in Magistrates' Court this week.

Jeremy N. Burrows of Friswell's Hill, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, driving in a dangerous manner and failing to stop for Police.

Already disqualified for 11 years, he was banned for a further 12 months. Sgt.

Peter Giles, prosecuting, said a patrol spotted Burrows riding his cycle at high speeds along Reid Street on March 13, and signalled him to pull over by switching on their emergency equipment.

Instead of stopping, the 22-year-old accelerated and raced up Court Street.

From there, he led the officers onto Dundonald, Princess and Angle Streets, Middle Town Road and Curving Avenue, often turning corners on the wrong side of the road.

Police lost sight of him near Rambling Lane off Parsons Road, but other officers called in to assist spotted Burrows again on Marsh Lane, where he ditched his cycle and ran towards the Pembroke Dump area.

After a short while, he returned to the bike and was arrested.

Magistrate the Wor. John Judge fined Burrows $50 for not stopping for Police, $350 for driving while disqualified and $600 for driving in a dangerous manner.

He also received a further 12 months off the road for each of the latter two charges, to run concurrently.
