his girlfriend and two children on a high-speed chase.
Then, after almost hitting two boys, he got out and ran -- leaving his family in the car, Magistrates' Court heard yesterday.
Tucker, 27, of Broken Hill Lane, Smith's, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, speeding and driving without due care. He was jailed for six months, with three months added from a previous suspended sentence.
Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that at 10.30 a.m. on September 28, Tucker was on his way to Harrington Hundreds grocery store with his girlfriend and two of his children when he was spotted by Police. He continued driving, almost colliding with two boys and running a stop light.
Tucker got out of the car and left his family, but later returned.
Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined Tucker $200 for speeding, $300 for driving without due care, and added two more years to his disqualification, meaning he is off the road until May 22, 1999.
