Cheethams take over at the top

Founders Trophy golf tournament resumed yesterday with a change of leadership in both the net and gross divisions.

While first day leaders Craigin Curtis and T.Mitchell Hull stumbled to a 66 following their opening round 60, the duo of Russell and Greg Cheetham rose to the top on the tails of a 63.

Adding to their opening round of 61, the Cheethams totalled 124 to take a one stroke lead over Terry West and Neil Lumsden into today's final round.

West and Lumsden carded 59 yesterday, the lowest round this week.

Meanwhile, Curtis and Hull are tied for third two strokes behind the leaders on 126. Also on 126 are Gordon and Alan Symons along with the tandem of Hugh Barit and Rick Pagnani.

In the gross division, Robert Vallis and James Shackleton lead on 135 followed by Ted Kenerson and Robert White and first day leaders Ricky Cox and Doug Clarke, each with 138.
