important documents stolen from volunteers this week.

Mrs. Marion Jones -- a member of the group which distributes meals to the elderly, sick and shut-ins -- yesterday told The Royal Gazette two female volunteers left their car to make a delivery in the Cedar Hill, Warwick area on Monday around noon.

They returned to the car to find a binder, containing emergency contact numbers for relatives of Wheels on Meals' clients, and detailed maps of clients' addresses missing.

A plastic pouch containing a small amount of money -- mainly from an elderly gentleman who had just paid his nominal weekly allowance -- was also stolen.

Replacing the money, Mrs. Jones pointed out, will be far easier than replacing the maps.

She stressed that volunteers only carried small amounts of cash, if any. Most of the groups financing comes from voluntary donations.
