Lightbourn cleans up!
Airlines Bowling Spectacular by winning all of the major prizes.
His only real challenge came from Conrad Lister, who along with Steven Riley and Antoine Jones, will be his team-mates at the Pan-American Games in Winnipeg next month.
Lightbourn rolled three outstanding games of 260, 267 and 267 for a 794 series. He won all three prizes for high games in the scratch division and also won the prize for high series. But he had to share the cash prize for the third game with Lister who tied with a 267.
Lightbourn's 794 series was also good enough to beat all in the handicap division -- all the more impressive as he bowls without a handicap allowance because his average is over 210. His closing average for last season was 215.
Close behind are Jones on 211, Riley on 209 and Lister on 203.
Major winners in the handicap division were Lightbourn 794, Lister 743, Mark Basden 706, Dexter Smith 692, Charleta Samuels 684, Betty Lespere 683, Erwyn Bean 680, Ronnette Smith 676 and Steven Harvey 669.
The high handicap game winners were Lister with 273 and Barbara Smith on 271.
The tournament continues for another six weeks.
Competitors are required to bowl in a minimum of six of the nine weekly tournaments and place in the top 15 in any one week to qualify. So far 28 bowlers have placed in the top 15.
