the rest of the fleet when the fifth race of the Star Class World Championships in Laredo, Spain was abandoned yesterday as it neared completion.

A premature start by 25 of the boats led to their disqualification, but the penalty was later overturned by the jury and the race consequently abandoned and rescheduled for today after the fleet had completed 80 percent of the course.

The race committee took the initiative to file an objection to the penalty imposed and their appeal was upheld by the jury to enable all of the boats to be reinstated for the fifth race.

Bromby and White, currently lying fifth overall, were not among the 25 boats involved in the false start and were reportedly well placed when the race was halted.
