February rg magazine out tomorrow

Tomorrow rg magazine will report in an in-depth analysis of the United Bermuda Party that there has been a clear change in attitude toward the Opposition, and that change has been noted among traditional Progressive Labour Party voters, according to stalwarts of the party.

While one senior black UBP member describes being "virtually cursed at and spat at" when he visited PLP households just five years ago, he says that now people "want to listen to what we have to offer".

However, this change in attitude has not translated into enough support to win at the polls, and this report investigates why.

The Royal Gazette's chief reporter Matthew Taylor wrote the story just as the UBP appointed Wayne Furbert as their new leader, who replaced Dr. Grant Gibbons at the helm. Mr. Taylor reports on the new man at the top and what he hopes to bring to the party.

This issue also celebrates Valentine's Day with recipes from Bermuda's top restaurants, as well as a look at the Island's beautiful garden roses with advice on growing them from leading gardening writer Peter Carpenter.

It is a new year and many people have resolved to live more healthy lives. Tania Theriault reports on diet and exercise with advice from experts.

Another new year's resolution which is often made is to improve the family budget. Roger Crombie, who writes the On The Money column in Saturday's Royal Gazette gives realistic tips for saving money in Bermuda's expensive environment.

rg magazine is out tomorrow. Look for it in your Royal Gazette newspaper.
