Primary have been sharing their knowledge with the public.

The Primary Six pupils hosted an African Exhibition on Wednesday and due to its success the show has been extended until today.

For the past six weeks, the children have been researching African countries of their choice.

They then compiled their findings into projects which included information on various African cultures, tribes, food and animals.

Following guidelines set by the teachers, the children were also required to create African mobiles, collages, puzzles and dioramas.

Using foil, shoe polish, cardboard and a rubbing-and-etching technique, the students let their imaginations fly to design original African masks.

They also decorated book covers with African stamps they made out of styrofoam and copies of the Adinkra block printing of Nigeria's Ashanti people.

Principal LaVerne Lau said: "The students have gained a knowledge and appreciation for African culture which will develop life-long social awareness.'' Today is the final day of the school's African Exhibition and anyone interested in attending can do so between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
