Kenya and Holland win
Bermuda’s clash against Canada tomorrow could be to decide who gets the wooden spoon at this week’s World One-Day Cricket League after the Canadians also crashed to their second-successive defeat yesterday.
Canada went down by seven runs to Scotland after making a gallant chase in reply to Scotland’s total of 276 for four.
David Watts top-scored for the Scots with 70, Gavin Hamilton made an unbeaten 64 and Dougie Brown was also undefeated on 50.
Canada finished on 269 for nine in a match umpired by Bermuda’s Roger Dill.
In the day’s other game, hosts and favourites Kenya crushed the Netherlands by seven wickets, dismissing the Dutch for a tournament low 131 — two less than Bermuda scored against the same team on Monday.
Daan van Bunge top scored for the Dutch while pace pair Thomas Odoyo (3-29) and Peter Ongondo did most of the damage.
Kenya’s reply of 133 for three was led by Maurice Ouma with 47 and David Obuya (37).
