BSX hits downturn

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) took a turn for the worst last week, dropping 17.346 points (0.34 percent) to close at 5,087.11.
A total of 246,432 shares were traded, with a turnover of $4,099,085.50.
The biggest movers and shakers were LOM (Holdings) Ltd., Watlington Waterworks Ltd. and KeyTech Ltd., whose share values climbed respectively by 25 cents (6.67 percent), 40 cents (3.17 percent) and 50 cents (4.17 percent). They closed at $4, $13 and $12.50 respectively.
The biggest losers were BELCO Holdings Ltd. and Butterfield Bank, who saw their share prices decline by 25 (1.15 percent) and 20 cents (0.99 percent) respectively to finish on $21.50 and $20.
The BSX Insurance Index, meanwhile, finished on 1,269.68.
