First across the line will not necessarily be declared the winner when the annual BAC Kool Running 5K road race takes place on Sunday.

The novel event requires all athletes to run without watches, with the runner who comes closest to their predicted time taking away the top prize.

The race, organised by Mid-Atlantic Athletic Club (MAAC), gets underway from BAC in Mills Creek at 9 a.m. with a separate event for walkers beginning at 9.05 a.m.

Entry is $10, $5 for MAAC members and junior under 18, before 5 p.m today. Late entries at a cost of $15 will be accepted on the day.
