OJ recovering from concussion

Bermuda cricketer OJ Pitcher was treated for a “grade one” head concussion and whiplash before being released from the Port of Spain General Hospital in Trinidad on Sunday night.

The 2006 Cup Match MVP sustained his injury while attempting to take a catch at long-on off the bowling of Janeiro Tucker in Bermuda’s final World Cup Group B match with Bangladesh at the Queen’s Park Oval.

But according to Bermuda team officials yesterday, Pitcher was said to be resting comfortably in his hotel room under the observation of his mother and is expected to make a full recovery.

Bermuda’s historical World Cup squad, led by skipper Irving Romaine, return home from the Caribbean on Wednesday.
