A motorcyclist who got trapped under the wheels of a heavy truck after a collision was still fighting for his life in hospital last night.

The 20-year-old rider, from Hamilton Parish, suffered serious head injuries and lacerations to his right arm after his cycle collided with the vehicle at the junction of North Shore Road and Jennings Road in Smith’s.

He was described as “still critical” yesterday in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police are still seeking witnesses to the accident, which happened at about 9.40 a.m. on Monday.
