Master runners go close to Miami glory
A handful of runners from Bermuda travelled to Miami to take part in the ING Miami Marathon and Half-Marathon.
Two of the Island's leading masters were just outside the medals in their age category in the half-marathon, with Ricky Sousa fourth and Geoff Blee fifth in the division.
Sousa was the fastest of the Bermuda contingent with a time was one hour 24 minutes and 46 seconds, while Blee ran 1.25.07, the pair finished 63rd and 64th respectively.
Also competing in the 13.1 mile race was Dannielle Bezant, who was 3,957th in 2.16.17.
The overall men's and women's winners were Brian Sell (1.03.46) and Yolanda Fernandez (1.16.01).
In the full marathon, Bermuda were represented by Jessica Bowdler and Joe DeSilva who were 2,353rd and 2,354th respectively and ran the same time of 5.27.48. Also from the Island was John Buckley who was 2,500th in 5.50.23.
Winners were Jose Garcia (2.17.43) and Kelly Liljeblad (2.47.13).
