Woman fined, banned after drinks driving

An impaired driver involved in an accident in Smith's has been barred from the road.Police asked Pembroke resident Alan Wainwright if he had been drinking. A court was told the defendant was over the limit — and later added: "It's coming out of my pores."
A woman smashed her car into a wall after drinking at a Hamilton nightclub, a court heard.
Helen Wilson told Police she had a couple of vodkas at Splash before the accident on North Shore Road on October 15.
Senior Crown counsel Paula Tyndale said that Wilson's Peugeot station wagon hit a left side wall at 5.30 a.m.
Police were called to the accident and she was breath tested when they suspected she had been drinking.
Wilson, 36, of Store Hill, Smith's, was fined $1,000 and banned from the road for one year when she appeared at Magistrates' Court yesterday.
She admitted a charge of impaired driving in Hamilton Parish and apologised for "wasting the court's time".
