Bermuda will host the Carifta Games in 2012 after Bahamas pulled out of the running to host the event.
The two Islands were battling for the right to stage the Games, but Bahamas withdrew yesterday, giving Bermuda the right to hold the competition for the first time since 2004.
“Bermuda has been given the 2012 Carifta Games after the Bahamas pulled out and with the support of our Ministry of Environment and Sports we have successfully won the right to hold Carifta in Bermuda 2012,” said Bermuda Track and Field Association president Donna Watson.
