Runners can still enter Mile

Those interested in competing in the KPMG Invitational Front Street Mile next month have a last chance to enter the trials for the event this weekend.

Bermuda Track and Field Association announced yesterday that hopefuls can enter the Mile Trials, to be held at the National Sports Centre this Saturday and Sunday, by registering at the stadium between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

There is no surcharge for late entries, but those signing up on Saturday will only be permitted to run in Sunday’s qualifying trials, as the entry deadline for Saturday’s trials has now passed.

Those seeking further clarification on late registration, can contact Peter Lever on 535-9494.

There will be refreshment stalls and activities for children on the grounds this year and the public is encouraged to come out and support adult and junior runners as they vie for an invitation to participate in the KPMG Invitational Mile on January 12.

Runners are also reminded that the deadline for on-line registration (www.bermudatracknfield.com) for the International Race Weekend 10k, half-marathon and marathons, is this Friday, December 8. Anyone registering after Friday will be subject to a $30 late entrance fee. Those unable to register online, may pick up an entry form from the SposrtSeller in Hamilton.
