A big jump in the value of KeyTech shares, which rocketed just over 41 percent, helped drive up the Royal Gazette/ Bermuda Stock Exchange by 108.30 points (2.19 percent) to close at 5,062.27.

There was no obvious catalyst for the sudden interest in the technology company KeyTech’s stock, which rose in value $4.55 (41.4 percent) to close at $15.55 after 3,900 shares were traded.

Keytech was the only mover on the market, although 10,000 shares of Argus Group were also exchanged but without altering the closing price of $14.40.

And 600 Belco shares were traded at $23.00 each, again without change to the closing price.

The total number of local shares exchanged was 14,500 representing a value of $218,445.
