AIG units buys flower supplier

NEW YORK (Reuters) — AIG Global Investment Group, a unit of insurer American International Group Inc., said yesterday that it acquired a substantial equity interest in Falcon Farms, a Latin American supplier of flowers to the United States and Canada.The price was not disclosed. The proceeds will allow Falcon to fund its internal growth and expand through acquisitions, AIG said.

AIG Global Investment manages more than $670 billion in assets and is a unit of the world's largest insurer.
