Breaking News: Higher health premiums push up inflation

Higher health insurance premiums have helped to drive up the rate of inflation, according to statistics released this morning.

Government’s Statistics Department figures show inflation stood at 2.9 percent in April, compared to 2.3 percent in March.

The health and personal care sector was the largest contributor to the increase as prices rose on average by 10.3 percent — mainly due to to higher health insurance premiums.
