Goater ready for Millers time

Goater returns to the club where he began to make his mark on English soccer today, looking to ?earn the right to be booed?.

Goater and his Southend team-mates, who are up to a surprising third in League One after a promotion year, head to Rotherham for what is expected to be a tough game.

Steve Tilson?s men have ridden their luck a little while racking up an impressive win streak and the gaffer knows it will be tough against the Millers.

?There are no easy games in the league and Rotherham are another example of this because they are a good footballing side,? he told the Shrimpers? official website.

?We will have to be ready for them ? away from home will be tough ? but if we come back with three points or even one it will be a good result.?

Goater, who has already scored five goals in seven games this term, will partner teenage striking sensation James Lawson in attack.

Lawson, still on a youth contract, has scored twice on his first run in the starting XI and keeps last year?s top-scorer Freddy Eastwood on the bench.

Khano Smith?s New England Revolution, meanwhile, welcome the NY/NJ Metrostars to the Gillette Stadium tonight knowing a victory will secure them a play-off spot.

The Revs are top of the Eastern Conference standings despite now going winless for two games.

Smith, who played 20 minutes from the bench in the 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew on Wednesday, is expected to start among the subs again.
