Kenya and Canada to contest final

Smarting from their first-ever defeat by Scotland a day earlier, Kenya rebounded in style yesterday to crush Canada by 158 runs in the last of the round-robin matches at the World One-Day Cricket League here in Nairobi.

The hosts will now get chance to exact their revenge as they take on the Scots in tomorrow?s final.

By finishing one-two in the week-long tournament, both sides have earned quarter of a million dollars and a place in next September?s Twenty/20 World Cup finals in South Africa.

Canada, who had hopes of their own of making the final, were blown away at the Jaffery?s Sports Ground, dismissed for a paltry 92 ? the lowest total in the tournament ? after Kenya had scored 250 for nine in their 50 overs.

Tamray Mishra led the Kenyan bats with 62 while Canada?s top bat was George Coddrington with 24 as they perished within 14.5 overs.

Man of the match Thomas Odoyo claimed four for 39 in seven overs and Peter Ongondo five for 51 in seven.

At the Nairobi Gymkhana, Holland finished on a high as they beat Ireland by six runs.

Darron Reekers paced the Dutch with a superb 104 in their total of 260 for seven and the Irish fell just short of that target despite 84 from the in-form William Porterfield and 94 from Eoin Morgan.

Dutch all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate claimed four for 56.
