Bermuda lose third tour match
Bermuda lost their third match on their United Arab Emirates tour today as a UAE XI defeated them by six wickets.
UAE scored 224 for four wickets in 43 overs, scoring their last 103 run in 11 overs for the loss of just two wickets.
If there was any silver lining in the day-night match, it was in Bermuda's batting performance, when they piled up 222 runs in Sharjah and batted out the full 50 overs for the first time.
Opener Stephen Outerbridge gave coach Gus Logie more reason to hope he has begun to solve Bermuda's opening batsman puzzle with 40 runs while number three batsman Saleem Mukkudem fell one run short of Bermuda's first half century with 49.
Although Bermuda's other opener Jekon Edness was out for a duck and captain Janeiro Tucker fell for 16, vice captain Irving Romaine and Dean Minors steadied the middle order with 29 and 35 apiece.
Lionel Cann chipped in with ten, Ryan Steede was out for five and Stefan Kelly and Kevin Hurdle were still at the wicket on two and one as Bermuda batted out its 50 overs. Leverock, making his tour debut, did not bat.
Extras again contributed mightily to the score with 35 runs.
