Bermuda lose second match
Bermuda 122 all out, UAE 124 for 3
Bermuda suffered their second consecutive defeat to what was effectively a United Arab Emirates second XI in Sharjah today.
Following on from their 46-run loss the day before at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Janeiro Tucker's men were trounced by seven wickets following another sorry batting performance.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, the Island's top order failed to deliver once again as Stephen Outerbridge (6), Dean Minors (2), Saleem Mukuddem (2) and Irving Romaine (3) were knocked over cheaply.
Stand-in captain Janeiro Tucker's 24 gave the innings some impetus while wicketkeeper Jekon Edness (15) and all-rounder Jacobi Robinson (20) chipped in lower down the order.
But it says a great deal about the quality of Bermuda's batsmanship that the top scorer was Extras with 39.
The UAE's principle destroyer was opener Shoaib Sarwar, who finished with figures of four for 21 off his ten overs.
In reply, UAE made light work of the opposition's low total, cantering to victory with a massive 20 overs to spare.
Bermuda's only positive from the day was the performance of Stefan Kelly, with the promising 18-year old seamer snapping up all three UAE wickets to fall in a seven-over spell.
The 14-man squad have a day off tomorrow before taking on what is anticipated to be a much stronger UAE side in two consecutive day/night matches on Thursday and Friday.
